A New Chapter in LA

ree

Some milestones make you stop for a second and really take it in. Expanding The Designers Group to Los Angeles was one of those moments for me.

When I started TDG in Toronto, I didn’t have a big plan or a roadmap. I just knew I loved design, the process, the creativity, and I wanted to do work that mattered. Over time, that simple vision became something much bigger. It became about people, purpose, and creating spaces that change how others live and feel.

Now, standing in LA, I can feel that same excitement I had in the beginning. The energy here is contagious. There’s this openness to new ideas, a mix of creativity and drive that feels familiar but also challenges me to think differently.

What made this expansion so meaningful wasn’t just the move itself. It was how it came about. When I met Cheryl and Suzanne from Interior Images, I instantly felt that alignment. We spoke the same design language. We shared the same belief that spaces have the power to make life better. That’s when I knew this was the right next step, not just for TDG, but for me personally.

Growth can look like numbers and locations, but the real growth happens in how we show up, the people we meet, and what we learn along the way. LA reminded me of that.

It reminded me that it’s okay to dream big, even when the path isn’t clear. That the right opportunities come when your purpose stays steady. And that success isn’t only about building a company. It’s about building something that continues to make a difference.

So this new chapter isn’t just about LA. It’s about every step that led here, every person who believed in the vision, and every space still waiting to be brought to life.

Here’s to new beginnings, shared purpose, and design that continues to move people, wherever the next chapter takes us.
