Designing with Purpose | Hold’Em for Hope with Shalva

Some events are about bringing people together. Others remind us why coming together matters in the first place.

I’m honored to serve on the board of Shalva, and last week, we had the opportunity to bring our friends together for Hold’Em for Hope, a special evening supporting Shalva’s incredible mission. The Designers Group was proud to be a sponsor of this event, supporting an organization whose work is especially close to my heart.

What I love about Shalva is the way it creates opportunities for individuals with disabilities and their families to thrive. Its center in Jerusalem is a wonderful example of how thoughtful design can make a difference.

From the welcoming spaces to the way the environment supports independence and connection, it shows how design can go beyond aesthetics to change everyday experiences. It’s the kind of impact I believe in, and something I hope to see more of in communities around the world.

At The Designers Group, we believe design should do more than look beautiful. It should serve a purpose, bring people together, and improve lives. Shalva embodies this philosophy, and I love seeing how thoughtful, inclusive design can make a difference for individuals and families around the world.

Being involved with charitable organizations is a reminder that success isn't just about what we build professionally, but how we use our relationships and resources to make a difference.
