Florida State of Mind

Updated: 2 days ago

There’s something about Miami that shifts your mindset. Since TDG expanded to Miami, I’ve found myself thinking differently — not just about design, but about how we live, how we move through our days, and how the spaces around us quietly shape our well-being.

Wellness has always been important to me, both personally and through our work at The Designers Group.

But here, it feels more natural, more expected, and beautifully integrated into daily life. People walk by the water in the morning before meetings. Cafes open onto shaded courtyards.

Homes are designed to blur the line between inside and out. This has made me reflect on how important it is to create environments that invite people to pause, recharge, and connect — with nature, with each other, and with themselves.

As our team takes on more projects in Miami, we’re leaning into that. We’re designing spaces that breathe, spaces filled with natural light, textures that calm the senses, and layouts that encourage both movement and stillness. It’s about more than what looks good; it’s about what feels good — how a room welcomes you in, how a space quietly supports your routine, how a view of greenery or the ocean can change the tone of an entire day.

Living here has reminded me to slow down, stay active, and carve out time to fuel both my energy and my design instincts. It’s made me even more intentional about creating spaces that invite people to do the same.

I’m excited about what’s ahead as we continue to grow our presence in Miami. The projects we’re working on are meaningful, purpose-driven, and built around the idea that good design doesn’t just look beautiful — it makes people feel better, live better, and experience life more fully. And I’m grateful to be living that mindset here, in a city that inspires wellness not as an afterthought, but as a way of life.
